Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

CasaBento is one of the biggest online bento box and accessory sellers. They have a diverse selection of bento boxes, in all kinds of styles from cute-kawaii to sophisticated and traditional. They also carry other useful products for bento makers, such as 220V Zojirushi rice cookers - very hard to get a hold of in most of Europe, unless you live near a Japanese store. (Another bonus for European bento fans: they promise 2-3 day shipping here! For other regions of the world it’s 4-8 days, which is still pretty fast.)

CasaBento ships worldwide, and includes prepaid custom fees in their shipping charges (with the exception of the rice cookers), so you don’t have to worry about paying more before you get your hands on your bento goodies.

And this is the giveaway item that CasaBento is offering to JustBento readers - a Tokyo Japan Bento Box Set, with everything you need to get started with your bento-making!

This set includes a colorful plastic two-tier bento box with a clear top lid, under which the matching chopsticks and spoon (both included of course) slot in nicely. There’s also a cute matching color bento belt, and a drawstring carrying bag. The total capacity of the two tiered box is 580ml, which is a great size for adults with small to average appetites or older kids.

The Tokyo Japan Bento Box Set is available in eight colors, and the winner gets to choose a set in the color of his or her choice. The colors kind of remind me of those candy-colored 2nd generation iMacs!

How to enter the CasaBento giveaway

Update: This giveaway is now closed. Thanks everyone for partcipating! The winner will be announced later this week.

This giveaway is open to everyone, worldwide - or at least, anywhere that CasaBento can ship! (If in doubt, please ask them first. I’m not sure they ship to Antarctica, for example.)

To enter, just leave a comment to this post. The question to answer for this giveaway is - If you could choose to go to just one city that you’ve never been to, where would that be, and why? (OK it’s not quite bento related, but I’m running out of ideas ^_^;)

Be sure to include a valid email address where you can be contacted in the appropriate text box! Your comment must be posted by 23:59:59 EDT (U.S. East Coast Time) (or just before midnight) of Sunday, August 22th 2010. One lucky entry will be drawn at random to receive the Tokyo Japan Bento box. Good luck!

This is Giveaway No. 3 of Back To School Week. Stay tuned for more throughout the week!

Kyoto for sure. Must be so beautiful.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Seattle as I have family there that I have not met yet.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Westminster, England - because of the history, the palace, and I'd love to travel around Europe after. :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would visit Kyoto, to EAT and see amazing things (probably in that order).

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Seattle to visit family.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

So many places I would love to visit, but most of all Managua, Nicaragua. My mother is from there and I have never had the chance to go. The photos I have seen are absolutely beautiful.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I've always dreamed of going to Tahiti. It looks like the kind of place a busy person can go to actually forget about everything stressful. Of course, I'm sure the Tahitian's have their own form of stress! But for an overly booked New Yorker, it looks like paradise. I love New York, but that includes leaving it once in a while. And what a great place Tahiti would be for a get away.

:)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

There are so many places I would like to go, but I guess I would pick Tokyo too! I really love the culture and would love to visit. ^v^

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Oooh... that would be Parma, Italy, land of my ancestors. I've never been to Italy PERIOD, so to land anywhere in that luscious Foodie Heaven would be dreamy, but I MUST see Parma to check out my roots. And to eat!

On the other hand, Prague is calling my name....... BIG fan of Franz Kafka. :o)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Just ONE! Oh no. Right now, I think Istanbul is at the top of my list. Londonand Paris are always on the list, but I've been there, so I guess I'll have to stick with Istanbul.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would like to go to Florence, Italy. I spent a lot of time in college studying art and Renaissance history, and I would just love to see some of the city for myself. But alas! I have yet to make it there. Maybe someday!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd go to Paris! No, London! No, Tokyo! No, Mars! Wait, that's not a city... okay, I'll say London, because I had a dream the other night that I was in Heathrow, and it seemed like a pretty okay place.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Paris, France. I've never been to Europe and have always wanted to go. I think Paris would be the best place in Europe to visit first...it has everything!! Arts, music, fashion, and BREAD!! I love bread/baked goods~~and I feel like Paris would have the tastiest bread in the entire world ^^ (yes I would fly half way around the world just for bread lol)

Re: Rice Cookers

Folks looking for those posh rice cookers in the UK/Europe might want to try Yum Asia http://www.yumasia.co.uk/index.html
I got quoted £75 postage for delivery of a rice cooker to the UK. Contrast with Yum Asia's £10 delivery for UK

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Tokyo. We have friends there and I'm dying to see an old fashioned miso factory!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to visit Moscow. I love traveling, so it is hard to just pick one location! This is one on the list of future places to go....

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

oh there are so many--but I am going to Athens this fall to run the 2,500th anniversary of the "original" marathon. So I guess Athens is a good one to choose--it will be my first time there and am excited to end the marathon in the marble Olympic stadium (even though I am totally slow poker runner).

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Neuschwanstein, Germany, to see the Fairy Tale castle! And I would pack my lunch in the orange CasaBento box and be the envy of everyone on the train.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would visit Paris for so many reasons...the romance, the fashion the food, the list goes on and on.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Since I've already been to Japan (but would jump at the chance to go back) and I live in a place where the temps have been over 100 degrees for days on end, I think I'd like to visit Oslo about now!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If I only had one place to choose it would have to be Ireland to see me ancesteral home, and I've been to Okinawa, Japan already.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would first choose to go anywhere in Ireland, as I am mostly of Irish descent, and I would LOVE to tromp around there.
Second choice would be Manila, to visit my sister in law who teaches there!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Oh my... I have tons of cities to choose from!! But I guess it'd be Tromsø, in Norway. First because I just love the (very) cold weather, and second because of the aurora borealis... I've promised to myself already: I WILL see the aurora borealis in Tromsø before I die, just wait for me and you will see, Norway!!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I gotta admit, Tokyo. I really would rather what Japanese I know go to waste!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If I could go anywhere in the world I'd go to Dublin Ireland where part of my family clan still live. It would be so neat to see more of the culture my family came from.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I think I'd like to visit Bergen, Norway because it is the Gateway to the Fjords in Norway. It sounds like the area is most beautiful and refreshing.

Thank you for running these giveaways! I love looking on your sites for Japanese recipes. I first found your site when I was looking for a substitute ingredient to use to make kinpira, in case I couldn't find gobo. What a find!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If I could visit a city I've never been to, that would be Tokyo. I love Japan since I was in elementary, and this fall I will start studying japanese... My dream is to go to Tokyo, most preferably for an exchange year or something like that, to learn more about japanese culture, the really wonderful language and, of course, to go shopping. I am especially addicted to japanese sweets...there's a whole list of things I would love to try XD

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

What a nice idea to hold a contest like that :)
My Favorite city to visit would be London. I've been to nearly every bigger City in Europe but never to London although I want to. I imagine that the flair and sense of this city is quite unique. Modern Life and very old History mix and mingle at a place like that - very exiting for me :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would go to Tokyo and go to Harajuku so I can cosplay!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Tokyo, because I'm too geek and otaku...its the city that has all the cool stuff, like the newest tech gadgets and they never run out of anime....

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Paris, to see the Louvre.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd love to go to Paris - I've been to most big cities in Europe, but not this tourist staple! :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to visit Buenos Aires. Somewhere completely different culturally and I am just in love with the South/Central American vibe.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would go to Cornwall, England. I've done some research and seen pictures, and have always been amazed by the sheer natural beauty and landscape. It seems to have this magical quality to the land that I find enigmatic.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

well, I would have to say Tokyo, and Japan in general because it's been a lifelong dream of mine to visit Harajuku and Omotesando, and Okinawa.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Osaka! If only half of what I've heard about the food there is true, I'd happily spend all of my pocketmoney on trying out foods I've not had before, and verifying that Osaka deserves its reputation as a foodie-haven.
Well, maybe not all my pocketmoney. I'd have to keep some for getting kitchen stuff in a 100-Yen-Shop, and a tsukemono press.
PS: These are REALLY nice bento boxes!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would go to Douglas, Isle of Man, because I am in love with Ireland and when I saw "Waking Ned Devine", (which is filmed in Man), it made me desperately want to go because it is so beautiful.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to goto Cairo, I lived there for 5years, but as a young child so don't remember much at all. It would be great to go there and be able to fully appreciate it, and see what memories might surface.
