Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

CasaBento is one of the biggest online bento box and accessory sellers. They have a diverse selection of bento boxes, in all kinds of styles from cute-kawaii to sophisticated and traditional. They also carry other useful products for bento makers, such as 220V Zojirushi rice cookers - very hard to get a hold of in most of Europe, unless you live near a Japanese store. (Another bonus for European bento fans: they promise 2-3 day shipping here! For other regions of the world it’s 4-8 days, which is still pretty fast.)

CasaBento ships worldwide, and includes prepaid custom fees in their shipping charges (with the exception of the rice cookers), so you don’t have to worry about paying more before you get your hands on your bento goodies.

And this is the giveaway item that CasaBento is offering to JustBento readers - a Tokyo Japan Bento Box Set, with everything you need to get started with your bento-making!

This set includes a colorful plastic two-tier bento box with a clear top lid, under which the matching chopsticks and spoon (both included of course) slot in nicely. There’s also a cute matching color bento belt, and a drawstring carrying bag. The total capacity of the two tiered box is 580ml, which is a great size for adults with small to average appetites or older kids.

The Tokyo Japan Bento Box Set is available in eight colors, and the winner gets to choose a set in the color of his or her choice. The colors kind of remind me of those candy-colored 2nd generation iMacs!

How to enter the CasaBento giveaway

Update: This giveaway is now closed. Thanks everyone for partcipating! The winner will be announced later this week.

This giveaway is open to everyone, worldwide - or at least, anywhere that CasaBento can ship! (If in doubt, please ask them first. I’m not sure they ship to Antarctica, for example.)

To enter, just leave a comment to this post. The question to answer for this giveaway is - If you could choose to go to just one city that you’ve never been to, where would that be, and why? (OK it’s not quite bento related, but I’m running out of ideas ^_^;)

Be sure to include a valid email address where you can be contacted in the appropriate text box! Your comment must be posted by 23:59:59 EDT (U.S. East Coast Time) (or just before midnight) of Sunday, August 22th 2010. One lucky entry will be drawn at random to receive the Tokyo Japan Bento box. Good luck!

This is Giveaway No. 3 of Back To School Week. Stay tuned for more throughout the week!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

This is a very difficult question for me, because I would love to say Orlando, Florida, but I've already been there. :C

If I could choose to go to just one city that I've never been to before I guess it would have to be Yorkshire because I've always want to go to a place where "the sheep block the road". It's been a dream of mine every since I was little. c:

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I have always wanted to go to Tokyo. With my fiance joining the Air Force, it just might happen!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to visit Papao in Tahiti. I can only imagine the beauty and splendor!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

After much consideration, I have to choose Anchorage, Alaska. I've always wanted to see Alaska and it's wildlife. I blame the desire on seeing too much 'Northern Exposure' as a kid. I would love to get a small taste of an actual winter.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Tokyo for sure!! I've never been to a huge city, or even out of the US!! It would be like being on another planet!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

What an odd shape. Somehow, it's still very appealing. (kind of like how oddly shaped I found ipods to be at first.) I wonder if it would be hard to fit things in them...

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd love to visit Paris!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

This is going to sound lame on a bento site but I would choose Tokyo hands down! I've been enamored by Japan since I was a little kid (I took Japanese class in 3rd grade!) and would love to experience the uber-metropolis-ness of Tokyo!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd probably go for Hong Kong as a friend's parents live there and the food sounds fantastic. :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Venice. I've been in many difference places in Europe (and even Italy) but it's a place unlike any other and I hope to experience it one day!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Osaka! I want to eat all the same stuff that Anthony Bordain ate when he went there. Takoyaki - yum!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Lisbon, Portugal. I think it would be wonderful to go during the ocean festival when there are sand castle building competitions and lots of yummy food to try. It might be fun to surf there too.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If I could choose a city to visit, it would have to be Zagreb in Croatia. It's where my papa is from and I've been meaning to go for ages, and am finally planning my trip in September. Maybe I'll have a shiny new bento to take on the plane...

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would like to visit to Greenland, because I want to see Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis. It is so fantastic & amazing!!!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

It's a difficult choice but I think I would visit Tokyo because I really love large, colourful cities and I feel like Tokyo would have a lot more to offer than many huge American cities.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

hands down, Tokyo. My first choice would have been Berlin, but I've already been there!
I definitely would LOVE to visit anywhere in Japan, but Tokyo is my first thought =)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Prague. It has that spy movie aura of suspense, mystery and intrigue and I know nothing about it's people, culture and FOOD!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd love to visit London! It's so full of history, yet at the same time seems full of modern quirks.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

While there are millions of cities in the world, the city that I would love to visit most would be St. Petersburg. My family being of Ukrainian origin, we were always close to Russia, and were even part of the same (Soviet) union for quite a while. Whenever I go back to visit relatives and family friends, and even when I talk to old friends back in the United States, they would always somehow get on the topic of St. Petersburg and how wondrous and beautiful it is. It seems almost like a fairytale city, similar to a sort of "Camelot".

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If I had to pick just one city I think I would go with Sapporo - I've been obsessed with the Ice Sculpture festival they have there - snow is very intriguing to me since we where I grew up and where I now live in NZ the weather does freezing rain storms and arctic winds but almost never snow. Besides, I've always want to go to Japan.

Ngā mihi ki a koutou katoa i Aotearoa :-)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd go to Paris, France. I've always wanted to go there, it looks so beautiful, and the food sounds amazing.

I would love to win this. My answer to your question is this: I would love to visit Beijing. My sister in law and her husband live there, and I miss her. I also love Chinese teas, and would love to learn more about them by visiting China!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

i would go to st. petersburg in summer. i would walk the same streets of chekov, tolstoy, and dosteovsky, and see what they saw.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

So, it's a cliche, but definitely Paris! I'm from a particularly characterless part of the world, and so Paris just seems so romantic (^_^)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to visit Osaka and Tokyo...
But I haven't even seen all of the country I live in! So maybe I should go there first! :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If I could go anywhere I haven't been - I'd have to say London, England for the theatre! Seriously!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Japan and put my 4 years of Japanese Language to use lol

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Prague - I imagine it's got all the rustic, romantic European culture of Budapest without the post-communist depression.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If I could go to just one city I've never been to I would go to Akihabara, Japan. It is basically a magical wonderland of goodies and awesomeness if you are an Otaku. I would buy hundreds of useless things and toys for myself and take a truckload of friends to come with me.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Paris! I love patisseries. That, alone, is one reason why I want to go there!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Cairo, Egypt, because when I was younger (around 2 years ago) I was obsessed with Egyptology, and was teaching myself to read hieroglyphs. I can still read the basic sentence, and the cartouches and still have my subscription to the magazine KMT which is a university-level publication for professional Egyptologists. I've developed a life-long friendship with one of my father's business clients who is from Egypt and when we meet all we talk about is his country's rich history. I try to go to every mummy exhibit that goes through LA (my home) and it's the top thing on my bucket list to visit Cairo, to go to the museums, to see the Valley to the Kings, and the Valley of the Queens, Abu Simbel, the Cairo Museum, and to experience the markets, the mosques, and to experience authentic middle-eastern food. I know it's not very bento-y, but hey, it's where I want to go.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would go to Seoul, a good friend of mine is living there and I would love to see the city!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would LOVE to go to Wellington New Zealand. Great culture, beautiful scenery, Lord of the Rings...

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would like to go to Sapporo. A friend of mine went there and all the pictures he had were of a beautiful winter landscape in Odori (i think thats the name) Park.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If I had to choose one city, and only one city? It'd be Tokyo.

Why?

I grew up in the middle of the city, but we moved out rural in my early teens. When I moved back I had grown quicker than my city, and it was just too small again. Also, I love japanese cooking, the language, being able to watch comics made for my agegroup, the robots. If I get the chance, I'm moving there, leaving it all behind.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to California for the Disneyland and of course with my kids! :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would go to Granada, to visit the Alhambra; I had a good friend whose family came from Andalucia and she made it magical for me, and my dad always wanted to go there but never did.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I was lucky enough to be able to study Japanese in high school, which continued for me when I went to college. As a result, I have many friends who have either studied or taught English in Japan while I haven't yet been able to go. I think for my one city to visit, I would have to choose Kyoto--the combination of traditional everything and the somewhat central location would make it a great place to visit!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Paris!!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

hmmm...it's very confusing...but I'll choose OSAKA!!! I want to eat takoyaki(love the round shape and verrryyyy delicious) and okonomiyaki...I've try to make it without the tako pan...it's very expensive in my country -.-' hixx...But the taste was good...use worcetershire sauce as replacement for tako sauce..reaaaalllly want to try takoyaki in Osaka..maybe someday I'll make it there :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

There are so many cities I would like to visit. But right now my first choice would be Florence. I have never been there and the renaissance buildings are supposed to be beautiful :)
