Hi everyone,
I have most of a large jar of besan flour (chickpea flour) and I don't know what to do with it. I _was_ making socca (chickpea flat breads) but my grill broke. Any other thoughts?

Technically, I am dieting. But I have friends who adore those things as much as I do! I can make a bunch and feed people! Brilliant thankyou!
It makes a lively coating in the mix for fried tofu. I use it, some spices and maybe a little beer or water. Dip in dry, then in batter and fry. It also makes great little onion snacks, dip the sliced onions in a batter and fry. Tasty but not calorie concious. But still a tasty addition to a lean bento, in moderation.
"Moderation" and "pakoras" are diametrically opposed in my world. ;)
*grin*
You and me both, sister.

OMG... onion bhaji! Pakoras are great, but onion bhaji rock my world.
Never thought of it for tofu! Brilliant! I've missed salt and pepper tofu that my local chinese place does and now I can have my own!
