My friend Yoshio keeps buying me bento stuff, so I keep making him salami, so he keeps buying bento stuff, so I keep making salami - and so it goes on. The latest to arrive was this Silver Bento colours box, and I just had to show you all how much it looks like an external hard drive sitting by my computer! All it needs is a Western Digital logo and a wee flashing blue light.
My friend Craig came into the office just as I was typing that and said "Oh that's interesting, but it's not plugged in!" And was very surprised to find it was a lunch box.

I'm geek enough to appreciate just that. It looks very handsome!
Just as I was reading that comment about Craig, Kenji walked past, saw the photo and said "someone's got an IMac and a Western Digital Hard Drive". He was also very surprised to learn it was a Bento box.
It's a great pity it won't see food for a while. Neither will the white and black pear version that's coming soon, because I'm on a concerted drive to lose 5kg and am having miso soup with an egg in it every day for lunch until I do. Seems to be working so far, and it's surprising how filling it is. No more than 200kcal too, even if I add a bit of fish. It allows me to not worry too much about what I eat in the evening.
I feel the same way about my bentos, I have three cute one that are being neglected just because I have been to busy to pack anything other than salad for lunch (no cooking and minimal prep work).
I eat salad for lunch all summer. I have a small fridge in my office and I use it to hold whatever salad ingredients I buy, so I have no prep at all. Except just before I eat it of course. Somehow in the summer salad is all I really feel like in the way of home-made lunch, although I do have to resist the temptation to buy sushi.
