I am sorely tempted - but the shipping cost stops me from pulling out my credit card. That , and the fact that I have a few bento boxes that I have yet to christen.
Yes, the shipping costs of this seller ARE outrageous ! Maybe the bubble wrap is gilded or something! Lol! I'd love to have one of the older-style sets that were listed today - but I don't need any more boxes either. I already have too many, and I have even more sitting in my cart at Bento and Co. They are for my daughter though (*wink*)
I don't understand why $9 for shipping from S Korea is considered outrageous.
Admittedly I don't read Hangul so can't see the Korean postal prices, but Japan Post does have an English section in their website. It would cost 780yen to send a package weighing 700grams by the cheapest method - about $8.25.
The L&L bento without the consumer packaging I have weighs around 700g. The non gilded bubble wrap and the brand new box would weigh at least 200g. Factor in also the cost of the bubblewrap and that box and the cost of someone's time to make up a label, wrap and send the thing (I'm not forgetting that the yen is stronger than the won) and the shipping charges seem more than reasonable to me. Nobody in S Korea would get rich charging $9 for shipping 700g packages to the USA or UK.
I see your point, Loretta. I do think, generally, places like Bento and Co. and Jbox are a better deal for shipping - at least, I've found that to be the case in my personal experience.
