Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

CasaBento is one of the biggest online bento box and accessory sellers. They have a diverse selection of bento boxes, in all kinds of styles from cute-kawaii to sophisticated and traditional. They also carry other useful products for bento makers, such as 220V Zojirushi rice cookers - very hard to get a hold of in most of Europe, unless you live near a Japanese store. (Another bonus for European bento fans: they promise 2-3 day shipping here! For other regions of the world it’s 4-8 days, which is still pretty fast.)

CasaBento ships worldwide, and includes prepaid custom fees in their shipping charges (with the exception of the rice cookers), so you don’t have to worry about paying more before you get your hands on your bento goodies.

And this is the giveaway item that CasaBento is offering to JustBento readers - a Tokyo Japan Bento Box Set, with everything you need to get started with your bento-making!

This set includes a colorful plastic two-tier bento box with a clear top lid, under which the matching chopsticks and spoon (both included of course) slot in nicely. There’s also a cute matching color bento belt, and a drawstring carrying bag. The total capacity of the two tiered box is 580ml, which is a great size for adults with small to average appetites or older kids.

The Tokyo Japan Bento Box Set is available in eight colors, and the winner gets to choose a set in the color of his or her choice. The colors kind of remind me of those candy-colored 2nd generation iMacs!

How to enter the CasaBento giveaway

Update: This giveaway is now closed. Thanks everyone for partcipating! The winner will be announced later this week.

This giveaway is open to everyone, worldwide - or at least, anywhere that CasaBento can ship! (If in doubt, please ask them first. I’m not sure they ship to Antarctica, for example.)

To enter, just leave a comment to this post. The question to answer for this giveaway is - If you could choose to go to just one city that you’ve never been to, where would that be, and why? (OK it’s not quite bento related, but I’m running out of ideas ^_^;)

Be sure to include a valid email address where you can be contacted in the appropriate text box! Your comment must be posted by 23:59:59 EDT (U.S. East Coast Time) (or just before midnight) of Sunday, August 22th 2010. One lucky entry will be drawn at random to receive the Tokyo Japan Bento box. Good luck!

This is Giveaway No. 3 of Back To School Week. Stay tuned for more throughout the week!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd want to go to Tokyo. I've always found Japan interesting, and it seems like the best first place to visit. I also have always really wanted to go to Tokyo Disneyland :P

After that, probably Xi'an, China. I've wanted to go ever since taking a Chinese Art History class. That city has a fascinating history.

Thank you for running these giveaways!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Wow that is a tough question! The first place that comes to mind is Salzberg Germany. It has everything from a quaint historic European town feel to castles, museums, festivals, and is the home of one of the most influential composers of all time... Mozart!

If i could go anywhere in the world, it would definitely have to be Moravia in the czech Republic. Not only is it the birhtplace of my maternal grandparents, it just seems like a cool place to go to! (and say!)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd love to go to Hokkaido. No city in particular. Just there. It seems so wild in contrast to all the lights and glitter you see in photos of cities like Tokyo.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Kyoto for the temples and the food!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I want to go to Iceland and do some glacier hiking.

I'd visit Honolulu.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would go to Tokyo and also visit the rest of Japan because I've never had an opportunity to visit Japan and it's top on my next to travel to list.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

To your question, I would choose any city in Japan. I am loving Japanese culture, the simplicity, the modern, the way of living of Japanese people. I believe i can learn so much from the culture and apply them to my lifestyle....

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Lisbon.
I've been to most countries in Western Europe, but not Portugal, and I would love to find out more about the cuisine, too.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Any city in the world?

As boring as it is, I would probably go to New York. I've never been to the States and New York would be my first stop. Amazing food, museums, galleries, shops, etc. Also, I have a lot of friends who live in the cit or nearby in New Jersey and it would give the opportunity to finally meet them all in person, which would just be amazing :D

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would like to go to Manila. I am half Filipina, but have never been to the Philippines, so visiting there to experience the culture and see extended family would be wonderful. (Apparently I'm odd since everyone else would like to go to Tokyo!)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Kota Kinabalu is at the top of my list--I never managed to make it to Malaysia when I was in Asia, and it sounds like a beautiful place to see!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Of course Tokyo, but I really would like to visit Egypt to see the pyramids.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would go to New Orleans & would like to experience the culture there.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Perth. Since the idea is to give you more ideas and I am sure you have been to Tokyo, I will go with something completely different.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd want to go to Yamato or Sado island to listen to the Taiko drum ensembles. Seriously fabulous.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Prague。 It is one of those cities not that "popular" for tourists but absolutely beautiful. I have a friend who got married there and the picture make me immediately feel the romance. Since I have never been to Europe, Prague is exotic and full of imagination to me :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Sendai for the Tanabata festival ^_^

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd go to Tokyo, where I'd learn more about Japan and its inhabitants. I'm really interested in japanese culture!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I've never been to Japan, but would love to go to Osaka, and after eating myself silly, I would head to Kumano to hike it all off. (Someday I plan to do all that with my husband and our little girl.)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If you could choose to go to just one city that you’ve never been to, where would that be, and why?

I want to go to Berlin, Germany! The fall of the Berlin Wall is one of the first major world events that I remember in my life. I want to experience its arts culture first hand and eat every wurst in town And lastly I feel an inexplicable draw to Berlin, like it is my 'spirit city' (as opposed to a 'spirit animal.') I know I will love it when I get to visit someday.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Any city. Well, I really enjoyed Cuzco, Peru and would go back in a heartbeat! The architecture, people, food, sense of belonging, cannot say too many good things about my visit. Then there is Machu Picchu. If you every go, spend more than one day. The views and history are simply breathtaking. In the states, I am dying to visit Savannah, GA; see some haunted places and visit cemetaries.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to visit or even move to Macinak island in Michigan. It is the only city in the US where cars and fast food chains are outlawed. I would love to travel by horse and eat fresh cooked meals even when dining out. It sounds like such a beautiful place <3

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I still want to go to Kyoto, just because I've read a lot about it and it sounds so stunning and wonderful to me. But I really still want to go to pretty much every single country in the world, so I'll be busy!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

My first thought was Tokyo, which was quickly followed by my second thought: "Crap, I've already been there!"

So I'm going to say somewhere in Spain... maybe Madrid?

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If I could go to any city, I would have to choose Paris. Not particularly for food, or fashion, or even really the people, as for the art and the history. The home of the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, working place of Picasso, Dali, Hemingway. A visit there may be a life changing experience, but its nothing compared to all the things that have happened there in the thousands of years before your arrival, and I think that's absolutely beautiful.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would like to go to New York because its were my bf grew up and he has told me many stories i would like to match places with :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to visit Okinawa for its beauty and reputation! Go on a gastro tour and live 100 more years! I would really like to know if one can do a gastro tour of Japan, and if so who would you recommend. Thanks! Ciao ciao

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

There are so many different cities I'd love to visit. I would have to pick London, England at the moment.
Thanks!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to visit Italy.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd go to Kyoto because I love Japanese History, actually I'm pursuing a degree in it and Kyoto is the pentical of history in Japan to me.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'll buck the trend. I still want to head to London. I never got to study abroad and I still want too!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would to go to Hong Kong. There is so much food that I'd love to try, and after watching Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern eat there on the Travel Channel, I -know- that it will be delicious! :) It's definitely not the Chinese food that you'd get in the US.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd go to Berlin to meet all of my family that I've never met before.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Oh Boy! This is tough!! So many places to go only one option. I have to say, I'd like to go to New York. Since I was a kid, I always wanted to come to USA and visit New York. I do live in USA now, but haven't been to New York, yet! Some day... maybe.... someday...

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

:) Happy to be able to participate this time XD

Thank you so much for the opportunity!

So, the answer for the question. Izumi city. That´s where my batyan lives and I would like to visit her. Maybe I could pick some sakurajima daikon ^_^

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

London or, not surprisingly, Tokyo! One day...

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would like to visit Rome--- never been there and heard it's great!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

zomg that Bento is so cute! If I could go to any city and take my kids, it would be Tokyo. They are both fascinated by the Japanese culture and how it differs from ours. If I am alone and not worried about civil uprising, I have always wanted to go to Kathmandu!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

i would visit Pondicherry in India and make that the starting and finishing point for a tour around the country . i have always loved asia and its varied lifestyles however india seems to stand out the most to me. i love their colorful culture and especially their views on food, such as cooking and eating isn't a solitary action and should be enjoyed by everyone. if i couldn't tour around India then Pondicherry would definitely be a must to see as it has a little bit of everything from all over the country.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to London or Paris. I've always wanted to go explore Europe (I finally went to Slovenia earlier this year) so I would love to go over and spend more time there.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Tokyo, to begin my visit of Japan. My grandmother is from Kyushu, and I would love to be able to visit her hometown and country.

Seoul!

I would want to go to Seoul. It's kind of cheating though. My husband is away with the military for a year and he's only about 2 hours outside of Seoul, so exploring the city would be great with him by my side!
Thank you for the Fun, Maki!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Cordoba. I am studying linguistics and history and am fascinated by the melding of cultures that took place there.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd visit Kyoto -- it seems like a beautiful and old city, nestled in a valley and surrounded by lovely mountains. I'd love to go there in Autumn (in time for Jidai Matsuri) and spend days exploring parks and the city's many museums, trying local food and exploring the many historical and cultural sites found there.
