Any Texans out there living in or near Austin? I'd love some restaurant recommendations, ideally something that's friendly for vegetarians AND meat lovers.
I'm heading out there for SXSW again and don't want to do the same wander-until-something-looks-edible thing I did last year. Pizza by the slice is great, but not every day.

I was in Austin last August, staying at the U of T campus for a conference... the only place that sticks out in my mind was a vegetarian place called Veggie Heaven. Its on what would be the SW corner of 20th St. & Guadalupe St., except that 20th doesn't actually cross Guadalupe.
Its not very fancy, but they have a large menu and the food is really good. We went with a group of about 10, most of whom were meat-eaters, and everyone found something to satisfy them, even without the meat! :) The fare is (North) Americanized Asian style, with lots of rice- and noodle-based dishes. And its pretty inexpensive, which is always a good thing when you're travelling and have to eat out a lot! :)
I found this link that looks promising: http://michaelbluejay.com/veg/austin/restlist.html
:)
Thanks!
