Hi everyone. it’s been quite a while since there’s been much activity on the forums…basically because, well, I broke the new member registration function and haven’t gotten around to fixing it.

The good news is, I am finally working on the background stuff and hope to have the forum up and running soonish. Although we have an active Facebook Page now, and I’ve finally gotten around to establishing a presence on Google+ I know that a lot of people would like a place to interact with fellow bento fans away from the usual big sites. So the forums will be back, although I’ll have to see how much stress they will place on the servers. (Full disclosure: I’m struggling a bit to keep up with the running costs of the site, especially since I’m trying to catch up from my long absence.)

However, in order to reduce the time needed to maintain the sites, I’ve decided to get rid of the individual member blogs feature. There are plenty of places where you can set up a free or very inexpensive blog, and only a few people were using the feature anyway.

So - if you do have a blog on this site, you have until May 15, 2013 to get down any content you have on them. After that they will be gone from the site.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Sounds like a good idea to me. There are plenty of other places for blogs and there's really no need in you having to deal with maintaining that side of the site, too.

I know this is not the place for it but I have to try

I want to register for this site because it has been helping me a lot on starting to make my own bentos especially that school is starting up and I wanted a healthier alternative to buying from the options on campus since it is mostly junk food.
So I'm going to follow your format that you posted back in 2011 and hopefully you do get the site up and running again for people who have experience and people who really want to start in something as awesome as this.

A short paragraph describing yourself, why you’re interested in bentos: I find it funny how long I've seen bento boxes in animes and mangas and it had never occurred to me that I could make one myself. I recently started actually searching and reading about how and where to make and get supplies and found this site. There aren't many sites that are dedicated to this subject which is why I hope it stays especially since it has helped many people starting out like me. A little about me, I'm a sophomore in college starting this fall semester and I just love Japanese culture like many other people have found it is cute, interesting, sometimes strange, but overall a lot of fun. For me it all started when I found manga in my schools' middle school library and here I am going to anime conventions, still watching "cartoons" as my parents call it, and now I'm buying bento supplies to "make lunch for a 5 year old" as my dad put it. I wish you guys the best on the site and that you get it up and running for all the bento loving folk out there ^_^

Your email address: well I had to write it to post the comment, well my email is the second username and its a yahoo email so that should be enough right? :)

Hope I don't get in too much trouble for posting this on the wrong one...
