Not that I'm usually that together but... well, as some of you may know, we've had the house on the market for a while now. Not the best time for it for sure...the bad economy is really worldwide, and affecting Switzerland too. Anyway, just a week ago we got the first worthwhile offer for the place...and we've accepted it in principle. The price is less than we wanted but hey...at least we are not making a loss. So, the upshot is that we are now obligated to move out of this house by the end of February, and find another place to live temporarily while we look for a new place to buy. We are about half packed, but as anyone who's moved knows, the last half is usually *way* tougher than the first half. (thankfully, we did agree that the buyers are responsible for clearing out any stuff we leave behind, so we don't have to clean up. I plan to leave them TONS OF CRAP, hehehe.)
I have to admit that at first I thought I could not possibly do the Challenge thing with the packing and moving on top of work and so on. But I decided that I had to - wanted to - do it anyway, because these are the things that life throws at us! And after all, body and health come first, and bento making is not something special - it's a part of life. So that's why I have been making little mistakes like pasting the wrong URL or forgetting to do stuff. I hope I don't make any huge mistakes but hey - if you catch me, please be gentle! :)

Good luck with your move! About a year and a half ago, I got married. My husband and I both decided to sell our own small houses and buy a house together. His house sold first and my tiny one-bedroom house literally wouldn't fit the two of us, the three dogs, and all our stuff. We moved into the new house and had to carry two mortgages for 7 months until my old house sold (and I had to take a loss on it on top of that). I'm so glad that's all over! All the moving stuff is super stressful no matter how you do it, but the chaos will soon be over. Hang in there!

You're so generous in all that you share here, and on JB and JH, and I am always feeling grateful for that, so thank you for this opportunity to support you with patience & cheeriness. So, here: lots of gentle "you're doing great & your hair looks AWESOME" vibes :-)

Good luck with moving... I havn't had any experience buying houses yet (i'm still in college, lol) but I know moving is stressful enough! I've done enough moving between in and out of dorms and apartment complexes...So I'm not moving out of my current apt for a while, but i certainly can sympathize for the packing part! I get so stressed because I try to be organize and then realize i don't have enough boxes and containers to be that organized and then it's just stuffing as much stuff in the car and going back and forth. Ugh. X_x....
Yum yum bento yum yum!
Oh Maki I feel your pain, ha ha ha! You are so generous with your time during what is a very stressful time for anyone. Thanks a bunch!!!! When my husband and I bought our first house we had to live with my parents for several months before the building was finished. Talk about stressful! Our son was 2 at the time and it felt like we were all on top of each other constantly; in addition to the stress of building and figuring out the finances, ugh!
I couldn't even begin to run a blog (and challenge, and forum) on such a scale as this, so no complaints from me!
Wow! Moving and helping us through the bento challenge. Bless your heart and thank you! Hope your move goes smoothly!

I hear ya! But I suppose it's one of those things... if life were perfect, routine, and happy all the time, well... it'd be disgustingly boring.
It's all the challenges in life that make us strong, that keep us growing as a human. Without it, we'd all be drones buying laundry detergant at wal-mart, making kraft dinner with weiners for dinner, and watching hours upon hours of sitcoms and reality tv.
BLECH!!!!! Not the life for me...^_^ Better to just embrace life just the way it is.

Oh, I have been in that situation... well, not that I had to make the decisions since I was younger at the time. But don't worry. :D even if the second half is harder to pack, just put on some music you love and it'll make it go so much faster. I remember one time when we moved, we stopped altogether midday and my mum, dad, sisters and I sat down and basically picnicked in the middle of the mess of boxes.. that was fun.
Life happens! And never in a way that's convenient!
Hopefully doing bento and keeping a routine will help keep you sane. I hate moving. I told my husband I'm never moving again without professional full-service movers, and then I'd like to go to the Bahamas for a week and come back to a different house. Which of course I'd never do because I like to micromanage, but I like the idea in theory.
